ThermoForge™ makes thermodynamics tangible. Its exposed flywheel, connecting rods, cylinders, cooling fins, and crank mechanism let you follow every stage of the engine's movement instead of hiding it behind a casing.
The QX6 arrives as a reusable assembly kit, giving curious builders the satisfaction of constructing a functional mechanical model before operating and displaying it.
Features
- Working single-cylinder Stirling engine model
- Buildable and reusable all-metal construction
- Large three-spoke flywheel
- Exposed crank and connecting-rod mechanism
- Finned cylinder sleeve for heat dissipation
- Integrated alcohol-burner tray and wick
- Included assembly tools and fuel bottle
- Designed for ages 14 and older
Approximate Dimensions
- Length: 160 mm / 6.30 in
- Depth: 60 mm / 2.36 in
- Height: 60 mm / 2.36 in
How It Operates
- Assemble the model and place it on a level, heat-resistant surface.
- Check that the flywheel, linkages, and piston move smoothly.
- Add high-purity alcohol to the burner.
- Light the wick and heat the hot cylinder for approximately 20 seconds.
- Gently turn the flywheel to start the cycle.
- Extinguish the flame after use and allow the engine to cool completely.
Safety
- Adult supervision is required.
- Recommended for ages 14 and older.
- The flame and metal cylinder become extremely hot.
- Use only on a stable, nonflammable surface in a ventilated area.
- Keep fuel sealed and away from heat when not in use.
- Never add fuel while the burner is lit or hot.
- Allow the model to cool fully before touching or storing it.
- Contains small parts and is not suitable for young children.
