The meaning behind the image
Peace & healing
The historical Buddha is shown in the earth-touching mudra. The image represents steadiness, mindfulness, and the moment of awakening.
AuricSutra
Hand-laid gold-toned filigree, mineral pigments, and the natural grain of a hardwood frame. Each material has its place in the finished artwork.
The Still Point of the Turning World. The Source of Peace. Center your sanctuary with the presence of Shakyamuni Buddha, the awakened one who attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. This iconography captures the moment of his "Earth Witness" mudra, symbolizing unshakeable resolve, the victory over distraction, and the realization of ultimate truth. He is the primary teacher, offering a path to liberation and a steady heart amidst the complexities of modern life.
As the spiritual core of The Sanctuary Series, this piece utilizes the subtle, luminous gradients of the Cloisonné medium to convey a state of perfect equanimity.
Before it comes home
To protect the high-clarity acrylic panel, please clean it gently using only a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as the surface can be scratched if handled roughly.
To preserve the integrity of the mineral pigments and the hardwood frame, keep your artwork away from excessive heat and high-humidity environments.
Each piece is meticulously handcrafted to order, which requires a preparation time of approximately 10 business days before shipping.
